frequently asked questions

Do you take insurance?

At Soulfully Adjusted Chiropractic we gladly serve the St. Albert area as a cash based practice, meaning we do not accept insurance, but do accept debit, Visa, Mastercard, eTransfer and cash! We do not work directly with insurance providers but understand that insurance provides financial compensation for most types of care. We will happily work with you to acquire the proper documentation for a self-directed reimbursement. By not working directly with insurance companies, this allows us to create individualized relationships with you as the patient and create a care plan tailored to YOUR needs that is not dictated by third-party insurance.

If I don’t have back pain, should I still see a Chiropractor?

Absolutely! While regular chiropractic care can help you with neck and back pain, chiropractic care is so much more than that. Chiropractic care is founded on the principals of vitality and expressing life to the fullest. This is only possible when our nervous system is free of interference, allowing our body’s innate intelligence to express life to 100% potential. Our focus at Soulfully Adjusted is to allow the body to thrive by removing the interference to the nervous system through gentle and specific chiropractic adjustments. Our number one priority is to see all of our members living life to their fullest potential.

Why am I still experiencing pain after my first adjustment?

After your first adjustment one of three things may happen: you feel better, no initial change, or you feel slightly worse while your body is processing and integrating the adjustment. Each adjustment is likely to increase awareness and communication between your brain and spinal cord and may take a few hours, even days, to fully integrate. It is important to note that the evidence of health within a system isn’t merely the absence of pain or symptoms, but the expression of vitality.

By the time most people come to see a chiropractor, many of us have been carrying stress and tension patterns for years. These patterns did not develop over night but have slowly began to compound causing most of us to become unaware that they even exist. We often desire a quick fix or the one stop shop for change, but healing is not linear, and does not happen over night. If after the initial session you feel better, do not assume that the cause of the problem is “fixed” right away because the symptoms have resolved. Again, the key here is that Chiropractic does not presume to treat or “fix” symptoms, but works with the intelligence of the body to return the nervous system to a state of normal physiology, normal function.

If I see a chiropractor once do I have to keep going?

Chiropractic is the largest, drugless, healing art and promotes a natural way to express life and vitality. At Soulfully Adjusted Chiropractic, we want you to utilize this type of health care for as long as it serves you! Most of our community continues to come back for regular visits because of the outstanding changes they have seen in their health and ultimately, how they have seen their life flourish. A chiropractor may recommend continual care and it’s likely because they understand the impact; that the adjustment removes interference between the brain and the body. When there is a clear channel of communication within the nervous system, our bodies freely release stress, unwind, integrate experiences, adapt and convey our fullest expression of health. Chiropractic is a process, not a treatment and it is our goal to walk through the process with you by tailoring a care plan to your specific needs.

Is chiropractic safe for my child?

A chiropractic adjustment on children looks incredibly different then an adjustment on an adult. The adjustment is very gentle and sometimes just looks like pressure points of sustained contacts. Children are in an incredible, yet vulnerable, stage in their life and development. Their curious minds commonly lead to bumps and bruises that are a common cause of interference to their nervous system - which can effect how their brain communicates with their body. Children have a remarkable capacity to heal and bounce back from illness of injury and with help from chiropractic care to make sure their nervous system is functioning optimally, they are sure to express life and vitality to the fullest as they travel their new and exciting journey through life.
